Not being fit enough or strong enough is the biggest excuse I hear as a reason not to start something new. The thing is.. No one starts something already strong or fit enough. We all at some point have to take a deep breath and just go for it. You don’t get closer to your goal by staying the same, doing what you know you are already capable of and standing still.
This week I decided to start deadlifting. I first did 10 reps of 30kg, not super easy for me but not exactly difficult. I was fully capable. After I completed the set I realised if I continue to deadlift at this capacity, I will stay at the same level. So I increased my weight knowing that the challenge is the only thing that will take me closer to my strength and fitness goals.
